As a high-quality pipeline material, aluminum alloy pipelines have a wide range of application prospects in the industrial and construction fields for quick installation of aluminum alloy pipelines. By strengthening technological research and quality monitoring, ensuring the quality and safety of aluminum alloy pipelines will provide better support for the development and construction of various industries. It is made of aluminum alloy material and has excellent corrosion resistance, lightweight, and high strength. Aluminum alloy pipelines have a wide range of applications in various liquid, gas, and solid transportation systems.

Install the aluminum alloy pipes one by one at the designated locations determined by the layout. Flanges, elbows, and other accessories can be used for connection to ensure a secure and leak free connection. During installation, brackets or fixtures can be used to support the pipeline to avoid sagging or deformation.

How to conduct pressure testing after quickly installing aluminum alloy pipelines?

After the installation of aluminum alloy pipelines, pressure testing is a key step to ensure the safety and normal operation of the pipeline system. The following are detailed operating methods:

1、 Test preparation

Selection of testing medium

Choose the appropriate testing medium based on the purpose of the pipeline. If the pipeline is used to transport liquids such as water, water is usually used directly as the testing medium; If used for transporting gases, such as compressed air pipelines, gas pipelines, etc., compressed air or nitrogen is generally used as the testing medium. Using nitrogen for testing is relatively safer because it is an inert gas that is less prone to combustion and explosion.

For some special aluminum alloy pipelines, such as chemical pipelines, suitable simulation testing media should be selected based on the properties of the chemical medium being transported, and the media should not undergo chemical reactions with the pipeline material.

Preparation of testing equipment

Pressure source: If water is used as the testing medium, a water pump with a pressure regulating device needs to be connected to provide stable pressure. If gas is used as the testing medium, an air compressor or nitrogen cylinder needs to be connected and equipped with a corresponding pressure regulator to ensure accurate control of pressure rise and fall.

Pressure measuring instruments: Pressure gauges are usually used to measure the pressure inside pipelines. The range of the pressure gauge should be selected according to the design pressure of the pipeline, and it is generally required to test the pressure to a maximum value between 1/3-2/3 of the pressure gauge range. For example, if the designed working pressure of the pipeline is 1MPa, it is more appropriate to choose a pressure gauge with a range of 0-1.6MPa or 0-2.5MPa. At the same time, it is necessary to ensure that the pressure gauge is calibrated to ensure the accuracy of the measurement.

Connecting fittings: Prepare quick couplings, valves, and other fittings for connecting to aluminum alloy pipelines, for connecting pressure sources and installing pressure gauges. The material of these fittings should be compatible with aluminum alloy pipelines and have good sealing performance.

Pipeline system inspection

Before conducting a pressure test, it is necessary to check again whether the connection parts of the piping system are secure. Check all pipe fittings connections (such as joints, tees, elbows) for tightness, pipe clamps for proper installation, and seals for correct installation and no damage. At the same time, it is necessary to ensure that the valves in the pipeline system are in the correct open and closed state. For example, all outlet valves in the testing section should be closed, and the inlet valves are used to control the entry of the testing medium.

2、 Stress testing process

Fill the test medium

Connect the pressure source to the inlet end of the aluminum alloy pipeline through connecting fittings. Turn on the pressure source and slowly fill the testing medium into the pipeline system. For situations where water is used as the testing medium, attention should be paid to removing air from the pipeline. This can be achieved by setting an exhaust valve at a high point in the pipeline system. During the filling process, observe the reading on the pressure gauge to ensure a steady increase in pressure and avoid any impact on the pipeline caused by a sharp rise in pressure.

Boost operation

After the pipeline system is filled with the test medium, gradually increase the pressure. For general aluminum alloy pipelines, such as water supply and drainage pipelines, the pressure rise speed should not be too fast, usually controlled at around 0.3MPa/min. If it is a high-pressure gas pipeline, the pressure rise speed should be slower, and according to specific design requirements and specifications, it may be controlled at 0.1-0.2 MPa/min.

Raise the pressure to the test pressure according to the design requirements. For example, for an aluminum alloy water pipeline with a working pressure of 0.8 MPa, the test pressure is usually 1.5 times the working pressure, which is 1.2 MPa. During the boosting process, closely observe the condition of the pipeline system, including the stability of the pressure gauge reading, whether there are any signs of leakage in the pipeline (such as water droplets leaking out, bubbles emerging, etc.), and whether there are any abnormal sounds or vibrations.

Pressure holding stage

After reaching the test pressure, turn off the pressure source and keep the pipeline system at the test pressure for a period of time. For general industrial and civilian aluminum alloy pipelines, the holding time is usually 10-30 minutes. During the pressure holding period, continuously observe whether the pressure gauge reading is stable. If the pressure drops significantly, it indicates that there may be a leak in the pipeline. At the same time, carefully inspect all parts of the pipeline, especially the connection and sealing points, to see if there are any signs of leakage.

Voltage reduction operation

After the holding time is over, slowly open the exhaust valve or drain valve to gradually reduce the pressure inside the pipeline. The pressure reduction speed should also be moderate to avoid damage to the pipeline caused by rapid pressure changes. During the pressure reduction process, it is also important to observe the condition of the piping system.

3、 Test result judgment and recording

Determine whether it is qualified

If the pressure of the pipeline system can be stably maintained within the test pressure range throughout the entire pressure testing process, and no signs of leakage, abnormal noise, or vibration are found, then the aluminum alloy pipeline pressure test can be judged as qualified.

If the pressure drop exceeds the specified range (such as a pressure drop of more than 5% of the test pressure during the holding period), or if obvious leaks are observed (such as water jet or hissing sound caused by gas leakage), it is determined that the test is unqualified and the pipeline system needs to be inspected and repaired.

Record test data

Record key data during the stress testing process, including testing date, testing medium, testing pressure, boosting speed, holding time, pressure drop value, etc. These data are crucial for quality traceability and subsequent maintenance of pipeline systems. A test report form can be created to record these data in detail and have them signed and confirmed by the testing personnel.

Aluminum alloy pipelines play an important role in the industrial field. Due to its excellent corrosion resistance, aluminum alloy pipelines can be used in transportation systems in industries such as chemical, petroleum, and pharmaceutical, and can stably and reliably transport various liquids and gases. In addition, aluminum alloy pipelines are widely used in pneumatic transmission systems in the manufacturing industry, which can achieve efficient pneumatic conveying and improve production efficiency.

Before installing aluminum alloy pipelines, sufficient preparation work should be done first. This includes determining the layout of the pipeline, measuring the length and angle of the pipeline, preparing the required pipes, flanges, elbows, and other accessories. In addition, it is necessary to ensure that the construction area is clean and tidy, and to ensure the safety of the construction personnel.
