Compressed air pipelines play an important role in industrial production. When designing, installing, maintaining, and repairing pipelines, it is necessary to pay attention to the material, layout, installation, support, cleaning, lubrication, and other aspects of the pipeline, and follow certain safety regulations for operation. Only by ensuring the normal operation of pipelines can safety accidents be avoided and the quality and efficiency of industrial production be guaranteed.

The diameter of the pipeline is selected based on the principles of high flow rate, low resistance, and short pipeline. During the process of pipeline diversion, the resistance of the pipeline should be minimized as much as possible to increase the air flow rate. According to the flow calculation formula Q=kDN2, where Q is the flow rate, k is the flow coefficient, D is the inner diameter of the pipeline, and N is the average wind speed, the selection of pipeline diameter should be based on the required air flow rate and resistance.

What are the materials for compressed air pipelines

1. Iron pipeline

Iron pipes are a commonly used material for making pipelines, used for transporting high-pressure gases. Cast iron pipes, carbon steel pipes, and alloy steel pipes are the main materials for making iron pipelines. The main advantages of cast iron pipes are high strength and good corrosion resistance, but their weight is relatively large, making them difficult to install and prone to breakage when exposed to frequent vibrations; Carbon steel pipes are relatively lightweight and easy to install, but their corrosion resistance is not as good as cast iron pipes.

2. Plastic pipes

Plastic pipes are another common pipeline material, mainly used for transporting low-pressure gases. The commonly used plastic materials are polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and polypropylene (PP). The main advantages of plastic pipes are lightweight, easy installation, and good corrosion resistance, but they can withstand relatively low pressure and are generally not used for transporting high-pressure gases.

Pipeline cleaning is a major task in pipeline maintenance, which aims to remove dirt and attachments inside the pipeline to ensure effective flow and maintain the good condition of the pipeline. The specific operation can be carried out manually or through engineering cleaning. The main principle is to first empty the gas inside the pipeline, and then clean it with high-pressure water or other cleaning equipment.

The troubleshooting of pipeline faults is one of the key measures for pipeline maintenance. Common pipeline faults include pipeline leakage, pipeline blockage, etc. Specific measures need to be selected based on the cause of pipeline failure. If there is a leak in the pipeline, it is necessary to check whether the connection of the pipeline is tight in a timely manner to avoid multiple leaks; If the pipeline is blocked, it is necessary to find obstacles in the pipeline for removal.
